Our Mission
Real Meal Grill Detroit (RMGD) is a mission-based celebration created in partnership by E.L.I.T.E Women and Toast2U to benefit Detroiters facing homelessness.

While REAL MEAL GRILL DETROIT nourishes the bodies and souls of our homeless community, it also provides resources to aid these individuals and families in their journey to stability. It is our hope that everyone who receives a meal at RMGD is one step closer to independence.

August 13,2016
Prior to our Real Meal Grill, the RMGD team and volunteers engaged the local homeless community with a bag lunch giveaway. This pre-event engagement spread the word for the event and simultaneously feed those in need.

August 27, 2016
This community barebecue party nourished 220 of Detroit's homeless community with food and fun!

The RMGD team will served hundreds of authentic, healthy, home-cooked barbecue meals including grilled chicken, burgers, potato salad, mac & cheese, green beans and hotdogs!

While enjoying music and their meal, attendees also received free informational resources to access jobs, housing, counseling, and other support through United Way's 211 call center.
